Differentiating between iPod nano versions 1 and 2

Apple has released two versions of the iPod nano, generations 1 and 2. This page will help you tell the two versions of the nano apart so you know which MiniBlaster to buy for your nano!

iPod nano Generation 1, Gen 1, or G1 was the first version of the nano and was sold up until Sep, 2006. It was also sold in smaller quantities after this date. Gen 1 was available in white or black and both versions featured a plastic finish on the front and a mirrored finish on the back. Notice the side and top look squared off.		iPod nano Generation 2, Gen 2, or G2 was the second version of the nano and was sold by Apple from Sep, 2006 to Sep. 07. Gen 2 was available in silver, green, blue, pink, black and red. Gen 2 has a metallic finish and is the same color on the front and back. It is white on top and the edges are more rounded.
