How to use headphones for virtual meetings

Along with comfort and privacy, headphones offer a much better quality sound when you're meeting in Zoom, Teams and Google Hangouts. Here's some tips to make sure you're able to hear and be heard.

For each of these - make sure your headphones are already connected to your computer. If connecting via Bluetooth to your computer, here's an article if you need to troubleshoot for PC or Mac. Otherwise, go to Settings - Bluetooth to find your headphones.

Zoom

Here's how you change your microphone and speaker settings in Zoom after you have plugged in your headphones to the device OR have connect your wireless headphones to to your computer via Bluetooth.

When I’m using my JLab JBuds Air with Google Meet I have issues. If I turn the microphone to the JBuds in the settings, I can no longer hear audio through the JBuds. The microphone only will work. I can only hear or talk, not both. I’ve tried every combination listed in the settings for microphone and speakers, but all have the same issue. I have to use a different microphone if I want to hear

Hi Joseph, perhaps your ear has covered part of the mic? Try different eartips and adjusting the earbud to ensure the mic is open. -JLab

I virtually call a friend in the UK. He said lately my voice has been muffled! I don’t use the Cush fins as they move around and block the mic. I checked the mic holes and they don’t seem to be plugged! What do I do ?

My JLABS microphone used to work perfectly my classmates could hear me perfectly. Then, one day the microphone suddenly needed for me to go close to the mic so it can pick up the sound. But even when I do that, it’s still quite unclear. Please help me with this problem. (I’m using microsoft teams)

My meeting participants can’t hear me either, I am using Microsoft Teams, I can hear very well but they can’t hear me, there is something wrong with the mic on the headphones. Contacted Customer service already but there are no troubleshooting steps nowhere…

Why doesn’t this work when using the earbuds for a PC? They connect, the audio comes through, but the PC won’t see the microphone in Streamlabs OBS. Everything I read online is because of how bluetooth is set up? I have it configured as my default device for both audio and microphone in my PC, but it still won’t work. Let me know, thanks -

My meeting participants can’t hear me after I unmute, and even if I never mute (so never unmute) during a meeting, they can’t hear me after about 5 minutes of use. Please advise.
