Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Brilliant Concept! The Good: The JLab Party Series speakers are a truly brilliant concept, executed beautifully. The sound quality is seriously impressive, especially considering the relatively compact size, delivering powerful, rumbling bass, crisp mids, and soaring highs with no noticeable distortion or loss. Their ability to connect wirelessly over their own network without requiring a WiFi or hardwired connection is both refreshing and liberating. The Bad: Quite possibly my biggest criticism is that when the battery gets low, it has a vocal warning that plays on repeat every few minutes until the speaker powers itself down. I find it especially irritating because it plays at full volume over the audio coming from the speaker. It seems to me that it would make more sense if it just played a designated "low-power tone" once, and then powered down when the battery was depleted. Personally, I wouldn't notice it had dropped off if it was connected to a series of other speakers throughout the house. As before, nothing that couldn't be remedied fairly easily, but that I found fault with. The Takeaway: Overall, the Party Series are a quality product with a lot to offer, and I highly recommend them. They are a touch expensive, but there's nothing else like them on the market in their price range, and the build and sound quality are second to none, making them well worth the investment.
