Brittney Reese - Long Jumper

About Brittney

As part of the USA Track & Field Team, Brittney Reese is a World Champion long jumper. Since 2008, she has won a record of six USA Outdoor Championships, and two USA Indoor Championships. Two of those wins were recorded as the farthest jump in the world for the outdoor event. She is also a three-time World Outdoor gold medalist, and two-time World Indoor gold medalist. In 2012, she couldn’t be stopped and won a gold medal at the London Olympic Games. At the next 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Reese jumped her way to winning a silver medal. She is also the ONLY long jumper (Male/Female) to win 5 World Championships in a row for indoor and outdoor.

As an American record-holder, Olympic gold medalist, and proud Ole Miss alumni, she is committed to giving back to the community and is a huge advocate for pet adoptions and volunteers with the ASPCA. In 2013, Reese founded The Brittney Reese Allied Sports Scholarship which provides students with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in sports alongside their non-disabled peers. She’s a world-class athlete with a heart of gold. A few years back Reese adopted an eight-year-old boy named Alex, whom was her godson originally, his mother being a close childhood friend. Making her a full-time mother and Olympic athlete, she took on full responsibility for the young boy this past year. Reese home schools Alex in the mornings, heads to her own practice after and then off to coaching part time at a nearby community college.

Determined to defend her gold medal title, Reese trains at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. She lives in the San Diego area with Alex and her English Bulldog, Caesar.
