Does your cooking need a little TLC? Chef Jernard Wells (aka The Chef of Love) knows just how to add a little spice in your life. Growing up, Wells’s father was a chef and business owner while his mother owned a catering company…thus his love for creating delicious dishes and entrepreneurial spirit grew. After finding joy in feeding his friends and family, he opened his first restaurant when he was 16 years old.
Continuing his cooking career Chef Jernard was the runner-up on Season 12 of “Food Network Star”, and has multiple appearances on “CutThroat Kitchen”, and “Culinary Fight Club”. To add to his many accomplishments, he was awarded the 2010 Patrick Clark Honor Chef of the Year, was honored as a Black Enterprise BE Modern Man, and won CutThroat Kitchen two times in a row. On top of that, he is also a published author, 88 Ways to Her Heart Cooking for Lovers, Weight of Expectations, Breakthrough, and the most recent Roadmap A Woman’s Guide to a Good Man.
“My father & mother planted an amazing seed in me to be whatever I desired to be in life, and I’m inspired to show my children the same pathway by being an example.”
His biggest inspiration is paving an exceptional pathway for his children, he hopes one day they can achieve all he has and more. A father of nine, you can find him spending time with his children watching movies, reading, or experimenting in the kitchen in his spare time. His next goal he’s hoping to achieve is to be featured in a movie or mini-series. Among his many flavorful dishes, his guilty pleasures is a honey bun or cinnamon roll. Be sure to follow his charming, kind-hearted personality on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook and never miss his TV appearances.
